I can't express how much I appreciate this place. For one my husband has several allergies - corn and wheat and to a lesser extent dairy. This is one of the few places we have found that makes genuinely delicious gluten free/dairy free sweets that is ALSO sans corn. Their lemon flavored stuff is my absolute favorite and their signature Shana cupcake flavor (Lemon w/ Strawberry Frosting) is to die for. Secondly, I chose Shana Cakes for my wedding. They made three cakes in all - one Red Velvet, one chocolate/chocolate, and the main cake (two tiered) was lemon with vanilla frosting. I wanted them simple and semi-naked (meaning the icing would allow the cake to show through in various areas) All three were awesome! I had tons of compliments from the guests concerning them. To top it off, the three cakes were also INCREDIBLY affordable. I recommend if you want scrumptious GF wedding cakes!

Shana Cake is a nice addition to Lawrence. I went to try it out with my granddaughter. I think this is only its second day in business. There is an existing bakery in Topeka. They have a nice variety of cupcakes, cookies sweet breads and bread. I am not gluten free nor am I allergic to the various ingredients that the bakery doesn't use. But, members of my family try to avoid gluten as well artificial colors and flavorings. I bought a variety of treats and a loaf of bread. If I didn't know it was free of those various ingredients, I don't think I would have known. Give Shana Cake a try.

My daughter (7) has Celiac and finding yummy, pre-made things that don't break the bank is often a challenge. Walking in to Shana Cake and being able to let her choose ANYTHING in the store to enjoy was like a dream. We have visited the Lawrence location several times over the past 8 months. All of their baked goods are delicious, in store and the take and make options. The staff is always very friendly and I love that they understand living a life with food allergies. We special ordered a birthday cake from them and it did not disappoint, even our family members who often criticize our gluten free treats were asking for the bakery information to order their own goodies. Thank you Shana Cake for being a wonderful place I can bring my girl for a treat that I know will be safe and scrumptious every time!
